The New West Symphony continues its Global Sounds, Local Cultures series with “America The Melting Pot.” NWS believes the arts have a critical role to play in capturing the most important stories of our times, expressing the lived experiences of all members of our society, and ultimately leading the way toward a more equitable, inclusive and just world for all. Unity through music will be explored with a pre-concert talk with musicologist David Ravetch (June 24); Meet the Artists with Xavier Foley, Lara Downes, Ashley Faatoalia and Eunice Kim (June 26); and an inspiring concert featuring works by Valerie Coleman, Florence Price, Hazel Scott, Duke Ellington and more (June 27).
