Focus on the Masters’ Artists Reception and Fundraising Gala At the Artist Reception and Fundraising Gala, which kicked off Focus on the Master’s 2nd Annual Studio Artists Tour, guests had the opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists on the tour and preview some of their work. Appropriately, the event took place in the Ventura Museum of History & Art. Focus On The Masters is a nonprofit photographic and biographical resource project that strives to demonstrate the full significance of the arts to society by bringing highly accomplished artists to the forefront of the community. The Boys & Girls Club of Ventura’s Great Auction Under the Big Top The attire was circus chic during a fun-filled evening at the Ventura Beach Marriott. Friends and supporters of the Ventura Boys & Girls Club gathered to enjoy cocktails and music while perusing and bidding on everything from an autumn in the Berkshires to leather Harley Davidson jackets. The Mime’s Silent auction was followed by a banquet dinner and then a Daredevil’s Live auction. The atmosphere was festive — young jugglers and clowns mingled with guests. Proceeds from the evening support the vital youth programs that the Boys & Girls Club offers the community at its three Ventura sites. The 13th Annual Casa Pacifica Angels Wine & Food Festival The weather was beautiful, the food and wine were plentiful, and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time at the 13th Annual Casa Pacifica Angels Wine & Food Festival at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort in Oxnard. Seventy-five restaurants and caterers, 150 wineries and 25 micro-breweries participated in this year’s event, which made for a truly indulgent afternoon. Performers like Spanish guitarist Benise and cover band Disco Inferno made sure that all the guests were tapping their toes as they sipped their wine. The Wine & Food Festival is a major fundraiser for Casa Pacifica, which provides hope and help for abused, neglected and at-risk children and their families. For more information about Casa Pacifica, call 445-7800 or visit www.casapacifica.org.
