ood Forward connects those most vulnerable to food insecurity with abundant fresh produce gleaned from local farms, orchards, backyards and farmers markets, serving 350 relief agencies throughout Southern California. The organization hosted its first community “friend-raising” event on Sunday, November 13, at Ventura Spirits Company. Nearly 100 friends and supporters of Food Forward were in attendance: local farmers, foodies and others interested in promoting more sustainable agriculture. Everyone enjoyed delicious food from Sespe Pizza, handcrafted distilled beverages from Ventura Spirits, wine from Paradise Pantry and beer from Topa Topa Brewery.
